Interdisciplinary geoscience collaboration and well-defined workflows from data acquisition to reservoir simulation are needed to effectively handle the typical challenges of EOR fields and the envisioned future commercial-scale sites for planned and incidental geologic CO2 storage. The success of operations depends on decisions made with good understanding of geologic formation heterogeneity and fluid and pressure movements in the reservoir over large areas over time. Dr. Alan Mur, Product Champion - Reservoir
Alan Mur is a geoscientist with over a decade of experience in geology, rock physics and geophysics and joined Ikon Science in 2014 as product geoscientist and a member of the quantitative interpretation team, where he executed consulting work in on and offshore, conventional and unconventional environments across North America, South America, and Africa. Alan is the regional product champion for reservoir in the Americas and is responsible for internal and external communications relating to software workflow needs, case studies, software demos, technical explanations and solutions, product status updates, assistance with deploying new R&D technologies and technical QC of software improvements. Alan has a B.S. in Geology and English writing from the University of Pittsburgh and a PhD in Geology with specialization in Geophysics from the University of Pittsburgh.
